PHARMACOLOGIE CARDIOVASCULAIRE
L’équipe de recherche en pharmacologie cardiovasculaire
concentre ses activités en pharmacologie fondamentale
et clinique. La recherche fondamentale porte sur les
peptides (angiotensine, tachykinines, endothélines,
etc.) et les lipides (prostaglandines, leucotriènes,
etc.) bioactifs alors que la recherche clinique s’intéresse
aux mêmes substances dans l’insuffisance
cardiaque et au cours de la chirurgie cardiaque. Les
domaines d’intérêt vont de l’hypertension
à l’angine et autres maladies cardiovasculaires.
Deux des chercheurs font partie des Instituts canadiens
de recherche en santé sur l’étude
des interactions immuno-cardiovasculaires reliées
à l’athérosclérose et l’hypertension.
